Hawaii Air Force Association - Chapter 138

Aloha! Welcome to Chapter 138, your AFA organization in Hawai‘i. We
began our 61st year sponsoring the Hawai`i State Science Fair and ended it
with the establishment of six scholarship programs—a first in AFA
Hawai`i’s history. Chapter 138 supported Air Force Week Honolulu with
events and hard work dedicated to recognizing the significance of Air
and Space to our nation's defense. Our members spent countless hours in
the community speaking to schools, mentoring young people of all ages,
and promoting the values of integrity and service.
As we move forward with our premier
program—Atterbury Circle Historical Park on Hickam AFB—we are committed
to shaping that landmark into a proud commemoration of personnel and
units who have made Pacific Air and Space power great. Additionally, we
will expand our educational program and strengthen our community ties
with veterans organizations, the Honolulu Chamber of Commerce, and
local businesses who have interest in promoting education in science
and technology.
Why not join us? We’re into the mach now, but
we're not going to cruise. Chapter 138 is poised for another rapid
ascent during 2009. Mahalo to those who contributed so much in 2008 and
welcome to those who are striving for excellence in 2009.
Mahalo,
Nora Ruebrook
President, AFA Hawai‘i Chapter 138
About Us
The Hawaii Air Force Association(AFA) Chapter 138 is an independent, nonprofit, civilian education organization which promotes public understanding of aerospace power. Our chapter recognizes excellence in the education and aerospace fields through different awards programs. In addition, AFA presents scholarships and grants to AF active duty, Air National Guard and Air Force Reserve members and their dependents; it also awards educator grants to promote science and math education at elementary and secondary schools.
Statement of Policy
The
2009 Statement of Policy and Top Issues was approved by the delegates
to Air Force Association’s National Convention in September 2008. The
Top Issues of the Air Force Association complements the AFA Statement
of Policy. Each of the Top Issues is significant, and they are listed
in no particular order of priority.
